Helmstedt, Lower Saxony, Germany
Helmstedt - town has 26,000 inhabitants . In former times the city was also called Helmstädt.Helmstedt was first mentioned in 952; it became a city in 1247. From late 1940s till 1990 Helmstedt was main border bewtween West and East Germany. A town is famous for its beautiful architecture. This card was sent by Uwe.
