Essen is a city in the central part of the Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Located on the River Ruhr, its population of approximately 579,000 makes it the 9th-largest city in Germany. For the year 2010, Essen was the European Capital of Culture on behalf of the whole Ruhr area.

Songzanlin Monastery built in 1679, the monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province and is sometimes referred to as the Little Potala Palace. Located in the capital of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, it is also the most important monastery in southwest China.

Bad Zwischenahn is about 27000 inhabitants touristic village in Ammerland district, 70 km from North Sea. During World War II it was the home base of the largest Luftwaffe airbase in northern Germany.After the war an airbase was converted into a golf course.
This card from GDR times shows Leningrader Street (now St. Petersburger Street) and new live buildings characteristic for socialistics times in all countries of the East Block.
The Giralda Tower was added in 1991 to the lighted towers of the Country Club Plaza at Christmas. Hundreds of thousands flock to the Plaza on Thanksgiving night each year when the lights are turned on for the holiday season.

The "Calder Rooftop Painting" was a gift from Calder to Kent County. It is a copy of a gouache the artist designedto be cpied on the roof of the Kent County Administration Building.

Berchtesgaden - in the Bavarian Alps. It is located in the south district of Berchtesgadener Land , near the border with Austria. Population: over 7000 inhabitants.
Berchtesgaden is often associated with the Mount Watzmann, at 2713 m the 3rd-highest mountain in Germany, which is renowned in the rock climbing community for its Ostwand (East Face), and a deep glacial lake by the name of Konigsee (5.2 km²).
Schleswig-Holstein, Polish: Szlezwig-Holsztyn, is a state in Germany. The capital - Kiel (Polish: Kilonia), other important town: Lübeck (Lubeka). In the state live about 2 milions people.
