Little Switzerland, Bavaria, Germany

The Little Switzerland (German: Fränkische Schweiz; Polish: Frankońska Szwajcaria) is an upland in Upper Franconia, northern Bavaria and a popular tourist retreat. Located between the Pegnitz River in the east and the south, the Regnitz River in the west and the Main River in the north, its relief reaches 600 meters in height.
The Franconian Switzerland is one of the oldest and most popular holiday areas in Germany.It was given its name by Romantic artists and poets in the 19th century who compared its landscape to Switzerland.It is the region with the highest density of private breweries in the world.

Castles of Suffolk, England, UK

Orford Castle is a castle in the village of Orford, Suffolk, England, located 20km northeast of Ipswich, with views over Orford Ness and Orford Island. It was built between 1165 and 1173 by Henry II of England to consolidate royal power in the region. The well-preserved keep still stands among the earth-covered remains of the outer fortifications.
Framlingham Castle is a castle in the market town of Framlingham in the Suffolk. In common with many other buildings in Suffolk, the main walls of the castle are built with flint. It is unusual, especially for a castle of the time, because it had no keep or central stronghold, but merely a strong curtain wall defended by projecting towers which enclosed the domestic buildings.
Bigod Castle originally  was a Norman castle held by the Bigod family. It was confiscated by Henry II in 1157 but restored to the Bigods around 1164. The castle was rebuilt by Hugh Bigod in 1165. It was again confiscated following the 1173-4 revolt and the great tower was pulled down. However it was restored yet again to the Bigods and was further developed in 1294 by Roger Bigod. The curtain walls and the twin towers of the gatehouse remain today, as well as a fragment of the keep.

Arnhem is a city and municipality, situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of Gelderland and located near the river Nederrij  as well as near theSt. Jansbeek, which was the source of the city's development. Arnhem has 146,095 residents as one of the larger cities in the Netherlands.

Klentnice, Czech Republic

One of the dominant in the Pavlovske vrchy hills, over the village Klentnice northwards of Mikulov. Sirotci hradek (Rossenstein) has the name after the Wehingens. One stem had been lived there in the first half of 13th century. The ruin takes a very characteristic impression. It was destroyed sometime before 1590. The documents from 1629 describes about the castle as “totally desolated”. The castle has been built on two split rocks divided by a deep hollow. In the hollow there is a karst’s cave. The main part of the castle laid on the south rock. A 8 meters high and 2, 5 meters thick wall with one window has been preserved connected to the remains of the wall and three window arches.

Today I have found  in my box a very nice card from Nadea. This card shows a St. Mary-Magdalene Church in Minsk. An Orhtodox church was built in 1847 in classical style.

The Glória Funicular (Portuguese: Elevador da Glória) is a funicular that links Baixa (Restauradores Square) with Bairro Alto (Jardim / Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara), in Lisbon, Portugal. It is operated by Carris.The Glória Funicular was opened to the public on October 24, 1885. At first it was designed as a water-powered system, then in 1886 it was replaced by a steam-power, and finally in 1915 it was electrified. In 2002 it was designated a National Monument.

Saragossa, Spain

Saragossa (Zaragoza) is the capital city of the Zaragoza Province and of the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. Rapallo, Italy

Rapallo is a municipality in the province of Genoa, in Liguria, northern Italy. As of 2007 it counts approximately 34,000 inhabitants. The climate is moderate and the main part of town is on fairly level land. Many of the villas are built in the hills that rise immediately behind the city to protect them from strong northern winds.The town is also known from  the Treaty of Rapallo . It was  an agreement signed in the on April 16, 1922 between Germany (the Weimar Republic) and Soviet Russia under which each renounced all territorial and financial claims against the other following the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk and World War I.

Norfolk -  is a low-lying county in the East of England. Of the 34 non-metropolitan English counties, Norfolk is the seventh most populous, with a population of 850,800.  The county town is Norwich. Norfolk is the fifth largest ceremonial county in England, with an area of 5,371 km².

Berlin, Germany

The next unique card from GDR times from Marco. This card was sent in 1974 from Berlin to Gotha. It shows places in Berlin built after WW2.  A very interesting monument of Lenin on Leninplatz and view on Karl-Marx-Avenue.
My personal interest: Polish Fiat 125P is on two of pictures on a card :)
