Magdeburg and Altmark, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany

Magdeburg - a capital of Saxony - Anhalt (Polish: Dziewin: Low German: Meideborg). Magdeburg's version of German Town Law, known as Magdeburg Rights, spread throughout Central and Eastern Europe. In 2005 Magdeburg celebrated 1200 years from  its existence. Magdeburg's most impressive building, the Protestant Cathedral of Saints Catherine and Maurice from 937 year.

Tangerhütte - is a town in the of Stendal, on Tanger river. A town is known of beautiful park and a castle.



Tangermünde - a little town in the same district. A town was estabished in 1009 year and is famous for its Gothic architecture.


Stendal - the next 1000 year town in the region of Magdeburg and a capital of district.It is also an unofficialcapital of Altmark (Old March; Stara Marchia). Founded by Albrecht the Bear in the 12th century, it quickly became an important member of the Hanseatic League. Magnificent churches, the city hall and the two remaining city gates are still proof of that former wealth.
