Christ the Redeemer  is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro. It was built between 1922-1931.The statue is 39,6 metres and weights 635 tons. It is a symbol of Christianity and icon of Brazil and Rio de Janeiro.  The sculpture was projected by French sculptor of Polish origin Paul Landowski. In 2007 the statue was called one of  New Seven World Wonders.
